Obama Earns Rare Prize For Executive Action on Illegal Immigration

Posted on

obama lyingPresident Obama has announced that he will explain his reasoning behind the executive actions that he intends to implement concerning the broken immigration system on Thursday at 8 pm. ET, on the  WhiteHouse.gov website. House Republican’s have cautioned that taking executive action on immigration would be a mistake, but it appears that the administration has rejected those warnings.

Although it is still uncertain of what the President’s plan calls for, one of 10 initiatives in an outline of his plan suggests that “deferred action” will be expanded to allow upwards of 4.5 million illegal immigrant adults with U.S.-born children to stay and work in the United States. Critics say that those who receive deferred action would receive work authorization permits, Social Security numbers, and government-issued ID’s. Many fear that taking such an action could threaten a still relatively unstable economy and job’s market, and a recent NBC/Wall Street Journal Poll showed that forty-eight percent of Americans are opposed to the President taking executive action on the issue while only thirty-eight percent support it. Obama’s current stance on implementing immigration reform through the use of executive action (bypassing Congress) is contradictory to what he has stated many times in past years. In fact, his “flip-flopping” on the issue of immigration reform combined with his contradictory statements about his legal authority to use executive action has earned him the rare “upside-down Pinocchio” from the Washington Post.

With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportations through executive order, that’s just not the case, because there are laws on the books that Congress has passed…Congress passes the law. The executive branch’s job is to enforce and implement those laws. And then the judiciary has to interpret the laws.

“There are enough laws on the books by Congress that are very clear in terms of how we have to enforce our immigration system that for me to simply through executive order ignore those congressional mandates would not conform with my appropriate role as President.”

                                                                          – President Barack Obama (March 2011)

“Well, I think it is important to remind everybody that, as I said I think previously, and I’m not a king. I am the head of the executive branch of government. I’m required to follow the law…”

                                                                          – President Barack Obama (January 2013)

“…The problem is that you know I’m the president of the United States. I’m not the emperor of the United States.”

                                                                           – President Barack Obama (February 2013)

Although the degree to which this administration is willing to go in order to push their Ultra-liberal agenda has become increasingly apparent to most Americans and much of the media (whether they like to admit it or not), many still defend the President and his policies even amid an outpouring of evidence that shows a blatant disregard for Congress’ power and the citizenry themselves. The scandalous videos that recently surfaced; showing Obamacare’s architect, MIT economist Jonathan Gruber referring to American’s as “stupid” and admitting that Obamacare was basically a fraud perpetrated upon the American people, serves as insight into how this administration views the world around them. Now we come to the issue of possible amnesty by way of executive order for millions of illegal immigrants and its affect of a whole range of factors. From healthcare and jobs, to our educational system and security, it has many Americans concerned – and rightly so.

“There’s no denying that many blacks share the same anxieties as many whites about the wave of illegal immigration flooding our southern border. The number of immigrants added to the labor force every year is of a magnitude not seen in this country for over a century.

“If this huge influx of largely low-skill workers provides some benefits to the economy as a whole, it also threatens to depress further the wages of blue-collar Americans and puts strains on an already overburdened safety net.”

                               – Then Senator Barack Obama: 2006 autobiography entitled “The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream,”

Nearly all Americans agree that the first steps involved with improving the nation’s immigration policy would be to secure the border and enforce the laws that already exist. Having a White House that has suspended the ability of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents from enforcing the current laws has not only compounded the immigration problem in our nation, but has put Americans at risk of potential terror threats from abroad.

2014midtermcolormap101The question of timing comes up concerning Obama’s plan as well. It is no secret that the Democrats suffered major losses in the mid-term elections. A wave of Republican victories throughout the country has been viewed by many as a direct referendum on many if not all of the Obama administration’s policies, whereas they have been rejected. Obama doesn’t seem to see it that way, stating in a press conference that he believes two-thirds of voters didn’t even show up at the polls. The sweeping Republican victory may have sent Obama another message as well, that he must do something to strengthen the chances of a Democrat win in 2016. What better way than by granting amnesty to millions of potential new Democratic voters.

Though he appears to be in denial as to what the mid-terms actually meant for his administration, he also seems vindictive and set upon going it alone even after repeatedly claiming he would do what he could to work with Republican’s. As for what may be ahead for America’s future, only time will tell.

Evil men do evil things…. but undoubtedly, dear leader has placed himself at the head of the line for American despots. And may he accordingly, pay the price in history and perhaps, beyond.
